The employer’s contributions are tax deductible. The earnings in the fund grow at a tax-deferred rate. At distribution time, some funds may be eligible for favorable tax treatment. Participants may be in a lower tax bracket after retirement.
Defined benefit plans provide a monthly benefit that each participant will receive at retirement. An actuary will determine the contribution each year.
Defined contribution plans generally provide for a contribution based on a percentage of current salaries for each year. The amount of retirement benefit each participant will receive will depend on the investment return and the number of years until retirement.

First Fidelity will act as trustee, custodian and/or investment manager on most types of employee benefit plans. We will also assist your legal counsel to prepare a plan document. Typical plans administered by First Fidelity include: 401(k) plans, profit sharing plans, money purchase pension plans, pension (defined benefit) plans and Keogh plans. IRA rollover plans can be administered by First Fidelity either as a directed custodian or as trustee.
A service in which assets of companies, foundations, endownments, and other not-for-profit organizations are accounted for, kept safe, and invested under the management of First Fidelity Bank. First Fidelity works with the organization to establish investment objectives and execute an investment strategy.
Daily funds are “swept” from the checking account and invested in a money market fund. As cash is needed, the reverse process takes place, from trust to the client checking account to restore the account balance. Income is received and distributed monthly.
